April 10, ....Be the Church 2011

On Sunday, April 10, 2011, fourteen of our local churches worked together on "Be the Church" day to meet the needs of our community.

"Be the Church" is an innovative concept of worship. On that day...instead of worshipping together in the church building...the body of Christ worships God by serving the people in our community.

Be the Church started in Ridgecrest in 2009 when more than 200 worshippers went into our community on a Sunday morning to renovate the United Way building, clean up the Fairgrounds, repair fences, weed the gardens at High Desert Haven, clean up yards and several other actions of service. It expanded in 2010 when more than a dozen of our local churches participated.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (NIV, John 13:34-35)
